New Workshop: Four Weeks To Your New Business Plan

Are you ready to start your new business, or jump start the one you have? You need a business plan!

“Four Weeks to Your New Business Plan” is a highly interactive workshop designed and taught by JoAnne Berg.   During the four weeks, here’s what you’ll develop:

  • A clear and unambiguous description of the mission of your business and the problems that it solves
  • A description of how you solve those problems and why your approach is the best one
  • A competitive market analysis which identifies your competition in the market and your special market niche
  • A description of your business model (how you get paid)
  • Your marketing and sales strategy and the processes that will drive success
  • Generalized overall financial projections (Note: this will not be a complete budget.)
  • A description of your team and how they’ll work together to succeed

At the end of the four weeks, you’ll end up with a written business plan, a summary financial projection, and a 10-20 slide PowerPoint or Keynote deck which you’ll be able to use to pitch your business to others.  You will also have identified several key metrics, which you’ll be able to use to manage your business more effectively right away. But more importantly, you’ll have a much clearer idea of where you’re headed, and a pretty good idea of the best way to get there.

Our Business Planning Workshop will be held starting on January 15th, 2011.  All meetings will be held at our Carlsbad offices.

This workshop has been designed to work with the schedules of most busy entrepreneurs.  Here’s the format:

Saturday, January 29th:  A 4 hour hands-on workshop.  This workshop will introduce you to all of the concepts you’ll need to understand in order to draft your plan.  You’ll also work with other attendees to develop the outlines of your mission, vision, and specific market niche, and your business’s distinct advantages in the market place.  You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what to do next, including how to do a competitive market analysis.

For the next four weeks, you’ll work on your own with unlimited online support from JoAnne to develop your written plan, your presentation, and a preliminary financial model based on the plan.  We will provide you with the templates you need to prepare the plan, and review it as you go along so you stay on track.  You’ll also form a group with other workshop attendees to support each other through this process.

At the end of the four weeks, the group will reconvene (Saturday, February 26th, 2011) for a three hour session where you’ll get to “pitch” your plan to the other members of the group and get their feedback.  Would they invest in this idea?  Why or why not?

This class is limited to non competitive businesses and will be capped at 10 attendees. The fee is $495, which we think you’ll find is very reasonable for the amount of consulting you’ll receive during the process.  All workshop fees are payable in advance by check or PayPal.
